It’s no wonder that Penny’s Country Farm claimed the honors last fall as the #1 Pumpkin Patch in Central NY in a Syracuse.com User Poll (results in the image below). This family-operated family fun farm attraction has something for everyone. In addition to U-Pick Pumpkins and a farm stand with an assortment of pre-picked pumpkins and gourds and other fall decorations, Penny’s offers a day on the farm with lots of things to keep your family entertained! They have one of the regions only air cannons for launching pumpkins (takes place every hour on weekends) over a half mile distance on the property (see the video below).
In addition, Penny’s Country Farm offers two corn mazes (one more challenging for adults and another simple and fun one that’s just right for young children), Spook Woods – a festive halloween trail that is delightfully decorated, a tractor driven “ghost train” ride for children under 10, specialty free play areas and more.
What’s a farm without live animals? Penny’s has these as well. This year, in addition to goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys and guinea hens, Penny’s has miniature donkeys, alpacas and it’s very own unicorn, named Sparkles (of course)! Come and visit this rare creature – only at Penny’s Country Farm.
One of the Fall Season highlights at Penny’s is their very own Western Town, “Tombstone” where visitors can be entertained by seasoned professionals with live-action skits and songs in the Saloon. In addition to the saloon, the area offers a general store, sheriff’s office with jail, country church and a blacksmith shop. Be on the lookout for Billy-Bob – he’s a real trickster!
Finding your way around the Farm is easy when you travel by wagon – which is now wheelchair accessible – with stops along the way to view pumpkin launches and a visit to Tombstone. When you find the need to refuel for energy, the Chuck Wagon at Penny’s Country Farm is available for dine-in or dine-out specialties.
